The Golden Nugget is unique in that it actually delivers an in-pool experience. Its main attraction, which is open to non-hotel guests for a fee, is The Tank Pool. Imagine swimming inches away from sharks and other marine life, all while soaking in the sun at a Las Vegas resort. This is now reality at The Tank, the world-renowned $30-millon pool at the Golden Nugget. Swimmers can slide down a 30-foot water slide, through a 200,000-gallon shark tank aquarium.
The aquarium in the center of all the action can be visited any time the Tank pool is open. Five species of sharks and various game fish encompass the shark aquarium, which is the centerpiece of the three-story pool complex. The shark species include sand tiger sharks, brown sharks, Pacific blacktip sharks, nurse sharks and a zebra shark. Plus, there are also southern stingrays and a wide variety of large game fish in the colorful reef habitat.
And when you’re feeling ready for an adventure, head over to the Shark Tube. This 300-foot slide will get you through the aquarium and into the Tank Pool in less than a minute — so make sure to pay attention as you fly down. It is recommended to take the slide several times, as you will certainly see something new with each ride.
Once you splashed down into the main Tank Pool, you can blissfully swim under faux waterfalls and peek into the aquarium from the shallow end, before drying off at a blackjack table. Plus, there’s also a separate 21-and-older pool, called The Hideout, located on the third-floor rooftop. The Hideout features an infinity pool and its own bar, H20. Cabanas and daybeds are plentiful at both pools, although they do require reservations and cost an additional fee.
